According to the statistics of the Federation of Passenger Cars, in April, 2023, there were nine models with wholesale sales of passenger cars exceeding 20,000 vehicles in China market, two of which were Tesla Y and Tesla Model 3. Meanwhile, according to statistics, the wholesale sales of Tesla China was 75,842 vehicles, which was second only to BYD's 209,467 vehicles, ranking second among domestic new energy vehicle manufacturers, among which the export sales of Tesla China vehicles were 35,886 vehicles, after deducting the export sales.

In contrast, in March 2023, the wholesale sales volume of Tesla China was 88,869 vehicles, of which 12,206 vehicles were exported. After deducting the export sales volume, the domestic retail sales volume of Tesla China was 76,663 vehicles, an increase of 16.6% compared with the same period in 2022. Specific to the model, the wholesale sales volume of Tesla Y model in March 2023 was 61,667, ranking first in the domestic single model.

In addition, in April 2023, Tesla's share in the domestic new energy vehicle retail market was 7.6%, an increase of seven percentage points compared with the same period in 2022. At the same time, the retail market share of mainstream independent brand new energy vehicles in China is 70.5%, which is 5 percentage points lower than the same period in 2022; The market share of joint venture brand new energy vehicles is 5.8%, which is 0.2 percentage points lower than the same period in 2022; The market share of new power new energy vehicles is 13.1%, which is 3.9 percentage points lower than the same period in 2022.
